We partner with families, schools, community boards, and agencies to deliver practical, respectful, and effective behavioral consultation.

Our mission: To empower individuals with developmental disabilities through compassionate, person-centered, trauma-informed supports that encourage independence, emotional wellness, community inclusion, and meaningful life experiences.

Arkemia “Kim” Cobbs

B.S. Psychology M.S. Counseling (In Progress) 30+ Years of Experience

Arkemia “Kim” Cobbs is a dedicated human services professional with more than 30 years of experience supporting individuals and families. She earned her Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Psychology from Colorado State University in 2016 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as part of her commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.

Throughout her career, Arkemia has developed a passion for serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, particularly those with co-occurring mental health diagnoses. She is committed to promoting dignity, independence, and meaningful quality of life through person-centered, trauma-informed, and positive behavior support practices.

Known for her warm personality, sense of humor, and genuine ability to connect with others, Arkemia believes that strong relationships are the foundation of effective support. She enjoys getting to know the people she serves, building trust through compassion, respect, and a little laughter along the way.

Outside of her professional work, Arkemia enjoys spending time with her family, singing karaoke, listening to music, and expressing her creativity through crafting, painting, and exploring art in all its forms. She believes that learning never stops and strives to make a positive impact in every life she touches through advocacy, education, and compassionate care.

Do you accept insurance?
Our services are provided through Virginia Medicaid waiver funding when authorized and may also be available through private pay. If you are unsure whether you qualify, we are happy to discuss your options and help guide you through the referral process.
What areas do you serve?
ANC Behavior Consulting, LLC proudly serves adults throughout Central Virginia and surrounding communities. Virtual consultation may be available for select services when appropriate. Contact us to determine if we serve your location.
What ages do you serve?
We specialize in supporting adults (18 years and older) with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral support needs, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Services are individualized to promote independence, emotional wellness, and community participation.

What happens during the first appointment?
Your first session focuses on getting to know you and understanding your support needs. We review your history, strengths, preferences, current challenges, and goals while meeting with you and, when appropriate, your support team or family members. This information helps us develop individualized, person-centered recommendations and determine the most effective strategies to support meaningful, lasting success.
Do you provide services in the home or community?
Yes. Services may be provided in the individual's home, residential setting, day support program, workplace, or other community locations, depending on the authorized service and the individual's needs.
How do I make a referral?
Referrals may be submitted by individuals, families, guardians, support coordinators, case managers, residential providers, day support providers, or other professionals. Contact us by phone or email, and we'll guide you through the referral process.
